International Yoga Day 2026 Celebrated Across Kashmir with Massive Public Participation

SRINAGAR, JUNE 21, 2026: The 12th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and widespread public participation across all districts of the Kashmir valley today, emphasizing the global theme of yoga for healthy aging.

Mega events and mass yoga sessions were organized at key locations, including the S.K. Sports Stadium in Bandipora, Mini Secretariat in Shopian, Showkat Ali Sports Stadium in Baramulla, and the Government College of Physical Education in Ganderbal. High-ranking administrative and police officials, including various deputy commissioners and senior superintendents of police, joined thousands of students, youth, and elderly citizens to perform a series of asanas and breathing exercises under the guidance of trained instructors from the AYUSH Department.

The regional celebrations also featured live screenings of the nationwide address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Kolkata, reinforcing the global movement toward holistic health, stress reduction, and mental well-being.

Similar sessions were successfully held at iconic spots like Wullar Vantage Park, the historic Avantiswami Temple in Awantipora, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg, where participants collectively pledged to integrate yoga into their daily routines to foster a healthier, more resilient, and drug-free society.
