Indian Special Forces showcase combat capabilities at global SOF Week exhibition in Florida
TAMPA, May 21, 2026 — A high-level Indian Armed Forces delegation led by Pushpendra Pal Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command and the seniormost serving Special Forces officer in the military, concluded its participation at the Special Operations Forces Week 2026 in Florida today.
The prestigious four-day international event, hosted in Tampa from May 18 to May 21, brought together elite special operations units, defense leaders, and global defense industry partners representing more than 70 nations to discuss modern warfare strategies and technological integration.
Marking a historic first for the nation, the Indian Army actively participated in the high-profile Capability Demonstration at the venue.
During the live-action exercise, Indian personnel showcased their high level of professionalism, agility, and operational excellence in specialized domains including counter-terrorism, unconventional warfare, high-altitude combat, and jungle warfare operations.
This prominent deployment of elite troops at the global forum highlights the deepening defense and strategic partnership between India and the United States while demonstrating the expanding operational footprint of the Indian military on the world stage.
