Chilka, April 26, 2026:-A group of 440 trainees successfully completed the challenging Satapada Lake Mouth Sailing Camp, held from April 24 to 25, covering a demanding 32 km stretch from INWTC Chilka to the Satapada Lake Mouth and back. Utilizing 20 DK Whalers, the participants engaged in a curriculum focused heavily on marinisation, which included practical training in boat rigging, man overboard recovery, and essential survival drills.
The two-day exercise was designed to test the skill, strength, and spirit of the trainees while providing them with hands-on experience in navigating complex inland water conditions.Beyond technical sailing skills, the camp fostered teamwork and physical resilience through a series of competitive events, including tent pitching, boat pulling, and tug-of-war.
These activities were integrated into the program to reinforce the collaborative discipline required for naval service. The event concluded with a cultural evening that allowed trainees to showcase their diverse talents, followed by an awards ceremony where the ANGAD division was honored with the winners’ trophy for their outstanding performance throughout the camp.
