Indian Army Southern Command Hosts Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally in Satara for Maharashtra Veterans

SATARA, India May 23,2026 — Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the veteran community, the Southern Command of the Indian Army organized a massive Ex-Servicemen Rally in Satara, South Maharashtra. The welfare-focused event drew an impressive turnout of over 5,000 veterans, including 70 Veer Naris (war widows) and Veer Matas (mothers of fallen soldiers), underscoring the military’s lifelong dedication to “serving those who served.”

The large-scale rally was organized by the Kolhapur Terriers and presided over by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Dakshin Maharashtra & Goa Sub Area. Designed as a comprehensive outreach initiative, the event primarily focused on resolving veteran welfare issues, addressing pension grievances, providing updates on the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), and facilitating financial assistance.

To ensure maximum benefit for the attendees, the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) and the Zila Sainik Kalyan Board conducted highly informative sessions, offering direct support and resolving on-the-spot grievances for the region’s military veterans and their families.
