India sends 20 tons of critical vaccine materials to Afghanistan child immunization program
NEW DELHI, May 22, 2026 — India has successfully delivered 20 tons of critical dry materials to Kabul to support the production of BCG, Tetanus, and Diphtheria vaccines for Afghanistan’s Child Immunization Programme.
Official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal confirmed the shipment on X, stating that more consignments are currently underway to further assist the initiative.
This recent delivery underscores India’s ongoing commitment to supporting the friendly people of Afghanistan, particularly in strengthening the regional health sector and ensuring essential healthcare resources reach vulnerable populations.
