Education Minister Sakeena Itoo inaugurates new primary school and hosts public grievance camp in Kulgam

KULGAM, MAY 23 — Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo visited DH Pora Kulgam today to inaugurate a new primary school at Satrajan Bangiward and lay the foundation stone for an additional classroom building at Government Middle School Bangiward.

Highlighting the government’s focus on upgrading rural educational infrastructure, the Minister stated that providing quality learning spaces closer to home is essential for the social and economic progress of far-flung and underserved areas.

She directed administrative officers to complete all ongoing school projects within the targeted timeline and maintain high standards of quality to support growing student enrollment.Following the inaugural events, the Minister hosted a large-scale public outreach camp at Bangiward to directly evaluate local developmental issues and address community grievances.

Residents and visiting delegations raised concerns regarding road connectivity, drinking water supplies, healthcare facilities, electricity, and basic civic amenities.

Assuring the public that their genuine demands would be addressed in a phased and time-bound manner, Itoo ordered departmental officials to take immediate action on urgent issues.

She emphasized that direct interactions between the government and the public are vital for ensuring responsive governance, equitable regional development, and efficient service delivery at the grassroots level.
