UDHAMPUR, July 23 — Deputy Inspector General of Police Shiv Kumar Sharma chaired a high-level security meeting via video conference to review operational preparedness and security arrangements across Udhampur and Reasi districts.
The meeting brought together key representatives from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, CRPF, Intelligence Bureau, CID, and Traffic Police, alongside officers stationed for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
During the interactive session, security heads conducted a thorough evaluation of the current threat environment and assessed the readiness of personnel on the ground. Discussions centered on boosting inter-agency cooperation, enhancing intelligence sharing, establishing area domination, and securing critical travel routes.
Special attention was also directed toward refining traffic flow management, upgrading communication networks, and establishing robust emergency response protocols to maintain comprehensive security cover.
Addressing the forum, the DIG underlined the importance of real-time collaboration among all law enforcement and intelligence entities. He instructed commanders to maintain strict vigilance across their jurisdictions, enforce established security guidelines, and prepare swift countermeasures for potential developments.
To guarantee a foolproof setup, officers were directed to step up field supervision, deepen local intelligence networks, and continually update operational contingency strategies. Participating agencies pledged their shared commitment to unified security efforts aimed at preserving peace and public safety throughout the Udhampur-Reasi Range.
