DG ASSAM RIFLES VISITS ZOKHAWSANG BATTALION IN MIZORAM

Mizoram May 24,2026 :- Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, DG AssamRifles, visited the Zokhawsang Battalion of Assam Rifles in Mizoram on 24 May 2026 and reviewed the operational preparedness of the unit.
During the visit, he commended the battalion for its dedicated efforts in establishing the Zokhawsang garrison and praised the troops for their professionalism and commitment.
The Director General inaugurated the Vijender Singh Institute, a recreational facility developed for the welfare of troops and encouraged personnel to make full use of the infrastructure for recreation and camaraderie.
He also appreciated the battalion’s achievements in anti-narcotics operations and recovery of war-like stores in Mizoram.
Interacting with students and faculty of the Bevela Lushai Centre, the Director General described the institution as a beacon of hope for the youth of Mizoram and a tribute to the courage and contribution of the Mizo people towards nation-building.
