Delhi airport counter terrorism mock drill tests security preparedness

NEW DELHI May 18,2026 — A joint counter-terrorist mock exercise was conducted at Indira Gandhi International Airport under the supervision of the CISF Deputy Inspector General and Aviation Security Group Commander alongside senior officials and stakeholders.

The coordinated drill included personnel from the CISF, Delhi Police, NSG, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, Delhi Fire Services, Delhi International Airport Limited, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, and the Airports Authority of India.

The exercise was designed to validate real-time crisis response mechanisms, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and enhance overall preparedness against emerging threats to aviation security.

The simulated operation successfully demonstrated swift tactical responses, seamless inter-agency communication, and high operational readiness.

The exercise reaffirmed the commitment of the security forces to maintaining robust aviation security and national preparedness at one of the country’s busiest transit hubs.
