Combined Annual Training Camp empowers 453 NCC cadets from West Bengal and Sikkim in Namchi

NAMCHI, May 17 — The 1 Sikkim Bn NCC successfully conducted the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC SK-II) under the aegis of the West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate from May 7 to May 16, 2026, at Kamrang Namchi.

The ten-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 453 Junior and Senior Wing cadets, including both boys and girls, arriving from various remote regions of West Bengal and Sikkim. The camp focused heavily on youth empowerment, nation-building, and fostering the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Alongside rigorous indoor and outdoor training routines, the camp featured specialized lectures and demonstrations on crucial subjects such as disaster preparedness, civil defence, road traffic safety, fire fighting, cyber security, drone technology, health and hygiene, and first aid and CPR, delivered by experts from state government departments, the NDRF, and other professional agencies.

Furthermore, selected cadets excelled in diverse Inter-Battalion Competitions, including service paper, map reading, field signals, judging distance, health and hygiene, obstacle training, tent pitching, and shooting, effectively preparing them for the upcoming Thal Sainik Camp.
