SRINAGAR, JULY 27 — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah engaged in a series of high-level meetings with public representatives, entrepreneurs, and prominent industry leaders during the Raabita event in Srinagar today. The wide-ranging discussions focused on accelerating economic growth, enhancing public welfare, strengthening trade and commerce, and expanding job opportunities for the region’s youth. Former MLA Dr. Chaman Lal Bhagat opened the deliberations by raising critical constituency-specific public concerns, highlighting local governance needs.
A central theme of the summit was the rapid expansion of Jammu and Kashmir’s innovation and business ecosystem. Shradha Sharma, Founder and CEO of YourStory and The Bharat Project, met with Chief Minister Abdullah to discuss strategies for boosting the region’s startup landscape and scaling innovation-driven initiatives. Concurrently, President of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arun Gupta, highlighted key industrial challenges and outlined measures to bolster regional trade and commercial infrastructure.
Addressing skill development and technological alignment, Saiyed Owais Ahmad, MD and CEO of Infinitech Services and Solutions, presented strategic proposals for industry-led higher education programs. These initiatives aim to bridge skill gaps by partnering with leading global technology firms. Chief Minister Abdullah reiterated his government’s strong commitment to inclusive development, assuring stakeholders that Jammu and Kashmir will actively foster public-private partnerships, empower local enterprise, and build robust skill pipelines for the youth.
