BSF climbers summit Mount Lhotse in historic double victory
NEW DELHI, MAY 23 — Marking its Diamond Jubilee Year, a five-member expedition team from the Border Security Force successfully summited Mount Lhotse, the fourth-highest peak in the world at 8,516 meters, early this morning.
The climbers reached the top at approximately 5:20 AM, scaling the peak just hours after a team of women personnel from the same force successfully climbed Mount Everest. This back-to-back achievement placed two separate teams on two of the world’s tallest mountains within a 48-hour window.
The successful ascent reflects the high level of discipline, endurance, and resolve maintained across the ranks of the border guarding force.
Led by Deputy Commandant Lovraj Dharamshaktu, the summit team included Constables Vikash Singh Rawat, Anwar Hussain, Mahaveer Prasad, and Mohan Singh.
The consecutive high-altitude achievements add a significant chapter to the operational and adventure sports legacy of the security force during its milestone anniversary year.
