JAMMU, Jul 25 — Security forces initiated extensive search operations across Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba and Kathua districts on Saturday following the detection of suspected Pakistani drones near the International Border (IB).
Army personnel first spotted a suspected aerial object hovering over the forward village of Tarore in the Vijaypur area of Samba late Friday night, immediately triggering counter-drone measures before the device reportedly retreated back into Pakistani territory. Around the same time, another unmanned aerial vehicle was briefly seen hovering over Chak Nalua village in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.
In response, joint security teams launched comprehensive ground sweeps in both regions to retrieve any dropped payloads or forensic evidence. Surveillance along the border has been significantly heightened as operations remain ongoing to counter repeated cross-border drone incursions.
