ANANTNAG, JULY 12, 2026 – Following a severe cloudburst in Awoora and its neighboring localities, Anantnag Deputy Commissioner Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat conducted an extensive on-site assessment to review the damage and expedite emergency restoration operations.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Muzamil Maqbool Beig along with senior engineers and field functionaries from the Public Works Department, Jal Shakti, and Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Bhat inspected hit areas to evaluate the impact on critical infrastructure, including water supply lines, electricity poles, roads, river embankments, and private properties.
To minimize public inconvenience, he directed line departments to deploy additional machinery and resources to clear debris and prioritize the immediate resumption of essential services. While interacting with local residents on the ground, Bhat assured the affected families of all possible administrative assistance and instructed officials to propose long-term, sustainable solutions alongside the ongoing swift relief measures.
