Anantnag Chemist Shop Sealed by Police and Drug Control for Regulations Violations

ANANTNAG, MAY 19: In a coordinated effort to enforce strict pharmaceutical regulations and curb drug misuse, a joint inspection drive at Verinag led to the sealing of a local pharmacy. The operation, conducted by a combined team from the Police Post Verinag and the Drug Control Department Dooru, targeted several chemist shops in the area to ensure compliance with legal standards. During the crackdown, authorities discovered significant regulatory discrepancies and violations at an establishment trading under the name “Hamad Drug Store.” Taking immediate action, the Drug Inspector sealed the premises on the spot for failing to adhere to prescribed norms. Following the closure, formal legal and departmental proceedings have been initiated against the violators. The Jammu and Kashmir Police re-emphasized their ongoing commitment to monitoring pharmaceutical practices and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy toward the misuse of regulated drugs.
