DC flags off Goods van for distribution
UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today flagged off a relief van carrying essential supplies for families affected by heavy rains in the district.
The relief material was provided by the Inner wheel club Udhampur to support those grappling with the aftermath of the disaster.Speaking on the occasion, the DC lauded the community support and philanthropic initiative of the Inner wheel club Udhampur.
She congratulated the members for their humanitarian contribution and emphasized that collective efforts play a vital role in alleviating the hardships of flood-affected people.
The club will distribute 30 special relief kits.Each relief kit contains the following essential items to provide some relief to the affected families during this difficult time: 1 tent, 2 mattresses, 2 blankets, and 1 hot water bottle.
On this occasion, Priti Khajuria, District Chairperson of Inner Wheel District 307, said, “We have always been committed to social service. This is our small effort to provide some support to the affected brothers and sisters and their families during this time of disaster.
We are trying to provide them with temporary shelter and basic amenities to protect them from the cold.” Priti Khajuria, District Chairman of Inner Wheel District 307, stated that these kits will be distributed directly to needy families in the most affected areas.
The Inner Wheel Club has played an active role in social welfare and service activities in Udhampur district and is committed to continuing such efforts in the future.Inner Wheel is an international women’s organization that promotes social service, friendship, and good citizenship.
Inner Wheel has been contributing to various social programs in Udhampur for over 30 years. Club President Anu Gandotra, Secretary Neelam Buchcha, Neelam Baigda, Meenakshi Sharma, Raman Sharma, Sudha Sharma, and all Inner Wheel members were present on the occasion.
