Seamless coordination among Traffic-District Police-Transporters is the only mantra for smooth Traffic flow on Mughal Road: DIG Traffic Jammu

Jammu 13 September :- DIG Traffic Jammu Region held a coordination cum Review Meeting at Sunderbani-Rajouri on Traffic Management issues on Mughal roadDeputy Inspector General of Police, Traffic, Jammu region, Dr. Haseeb Mughal-IPS undertook a four-day visit to district Rajouri-Poonch to assess the traffic management issues and challenges that have emerged in the aftermath of recent heavy rains which have resulted in suspension of regular traffic on NH-44 and diversion of Traffic to Rajouri-Poonch towards Valley via Mughal road. As a part of his tour, DIG Traffic held an important meeting with officers of the Traffic Police and District Police at Dak Bungalow, Sunderbani. The meeting was convened to review the prevailing traffic situation, identify problem areas and chalk out a coordinated strategy for effective traffic regulation under the present circumstances.In the meeting, the DIG Traffic underscored the importance of synergy between District Police and Traffic Police to tackle the situation, particularly in light of the limited manpower available with the Traffic Wing. He directed the District Police authorities to extend full cooperation and support to Traffic Police personnel for better management of vehicular movement, enforcement of rules, and ensuring road safety. He further instructed officers to remain extra vigilant on highways and link roads prone to landslides and blockades, and to issue timely advisories to the public so that inconvenience is minimized.

Highlighting the security dimension of traffic regulation, the DIG Traffic advised that District Police must work in close liaison with the Traffic Wing to ensure law and order as well as smooth traffic management, especially during peak hours and in emergency situations. He reiterated that the collective responsibility of the police is to safeguard public safety and provide maximum assistance to the people during the ongoing monsoon season.He emphasized on taking the transporters on board while framing any local traffic management policies so that their concerns are duly addressed. The DIG Traffic appreciated the efforts of both Traffic Police and District Police officers in handling the difficult traffic situations caused by natural disruptions and assured them of all necessary support to further strengthen coordination and improve traffic management in Rajouri district.

The meeting was attended among the officers; SSP Traffic Rural Traffic Jammu, DySP Rajouri-Poonch, DySP Traffic Rural Jammu, DySP SDPO Poni, SDPO Kalakot, SDPO Nowshera, DTI Sunderbani, DTI Katra, SHO Sunderbani, SHO Dharmshal and IC Police Post Bamla.Traffic Police Jammu Zone is committed to serve people 24×7 and seek their cooperation in these testing time, the message should go down the line, the DIG added.
