Udhampur 12 September:- In a proactive response to prevent dengue cases in the Udhampur region and the lingering moisture from a prolonged monsoon season, the Udhampur Municipal Council (UMC) has launched an intensive anti-mosquito fogging operation across its entire jurisdiction.
The drive is being conducted under the strategic direction of the District Administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, who has prioritized public health initiatives to curb the spread of vector-borne diseases. The campaign specifically targets all municipal wards, with heightened focus on those localities where a spike in dengue infections has been reported.
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Municipality Udhampur, the fogging teams are strategically deployed during the afternoon hours, a time identified as most effective for targeting adult mosquitoes. This concerted effort aims to eliminate active mosquito breeding sites in public areas, disrupt the transmission cycle of dengue, and safeguard the community from the potential outbreak. The administration has also urged residents to cooperate by ensuring there is no stagnant water in and around their homes and to allow fogging teams to access all areas for comprehensive coverage.
