Indian Army Military Band Concert Ignites Patriotic Spirit at Lucknow’s Janeshwar Mishra Park Ahead of 80th Independence Day

LUCKNOW, AUGUST 09, 2026 — As part of the national celebrations leading up to India’s 80th Independence Day, the Indian Army organized a grand military band performance at Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow, filling the evening air with stirring martial music and soulful patriotic melodies. The musical concert brought together an ensemble of 80 skilled personnel from the Military and Pipe Bands of the AMC Centre and College alongside the Military Band of 11 GRRC, drawing a crowd of nearly 1,000 citizens and local youth. Inaugurated by Lieutenant General J. Debnath, Commandant of AMC Centre and College and OIC Records, the open-air event was coordinated under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Azad Khan to offer the public a firsthand experience of the country’s rich martial heritage and musical traditions.

The concert resonated deeply with visitors of all ages, blending classic military marches with widely recognized national melodies designed to inspire civic pride and rekindle the spirit of freedom.Beyond serving as a cultural showcase, the performance formed part of a broader nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Defence to host ceremonial band performances across hundreds of public venues in the lead-up to August 15. By bringing disciplined army musicians into prominent public spaces like Janeshwar Mishra Park, the event effectively strengthened the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the civilian population, offering young citizens an uplifting reflection of unity, sacrifice, and service to the nation.
