Indian Army Hosts Career Guidance Session for Female Students in Poonch to Drive Women Empowerment
HARNI (POONCH), August 09, 2026 — In a dedicated effort to educate and motivate young women in border regions, the Indian Army organized an interactive lecture on “Career Opportunities for Women” at Harni in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The session aimed to illuminate diverse professional pathways and inspire female students to pursue financial independence and self-reliance.
The outreach program brought together 75 students alongside five teachers, who participated enthusiastically throughout the event. Speakers outlined a wide spectrum of career avenues spanning defense services, healthcare, education, civil administration, technology, and entrepreneurship. Attendees were encouraged to assess their personal strengths, establish realistic career milestones, and develop actionable plans to achieve long-term success.
The lecture emphasized the critical role of quality education, skill enhancement, confidence, and sustained discipline in navigating modern career landscapes. During the interactive Q&A segment, students engaged directly with speakers to address queries regarding eligibility criteria, entrance exams, and career progression across various public and private sectors.
School authorities, faculty members, and students expressed gratitude to the armed forces for organizing the session. The initiative underscores the Indian Army’s continuous commitment toward community development, youth engagement, and gender empowerment in the region.
