International Yoga Day Celebrated at Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court
SRINAGAR, JUNE 21, 2026: – The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh celebrated International Yoga Day at the High Court Complex in Srinagar with great fervor and enthusiasm under the directions of the Acting Chief Justice. Sanjay Dhar, Judge of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, graced the event and led the yoga sessions.
The celebration saw active participation from key judicial figures, including the Registrar General, the Member/Secretary of the J&K Legal Services Authority, the Director of the J&K Judicial Academy, the Registrar Judicial Srinagar, the Registrar Rules, the Registrar IT, the Joint Registrar Judicial, the Secretary of the High Court Legal Services Committee, and the CPC e-courts, alongside various other judicial officers and registry staff.
During the program, trained yoga instructors from the Directorate of AYUSH, led by Peerzada Altaf Ahmad Shah, conducted common yoga protocol sessions. Participants performed a variety of asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques in line with this year’s theme.
Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Dhar emphasized the importance of yoga in managing stress and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, particularly for members of the legal fraternity. He stated that the regular practice of yoga enhances concentration, discipline, and mental clarity, which are essential qualities for the effective dispensation of justice.
He also appreciated the efforts of the registry in organizing the event and urged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives. The event concluded with a collective pledge to adopt yoga for personal and community well-being.
