Health Minister Sakeena Itoo inaugurates medical camp at Zadibal ahead of Muharram

SRINAGAR, June 15, 2026 :- Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education Sakeena Itoo inaugurated a comprehensive medical camp at Zadibal today to ensure accessible healthcare services and emergency medical preparedness for devotees ahead of the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram. Established by the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, as part of the government’s extensive preparations, the camp will offer general medical consultations, health screening, first-aid assistance, emergency care support, distribution of essential medicines, and public health awareness.

During the inauguration, the Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring seamless medical services, noting that special arrangements are being deployed across key congregation points and procession routes to cater to mourners and visitors. She stated that the health department has been directed to remain fully prepared and responsive, with dedicated medical teams, ambulances, and emergency response units stationed at strategic locations across Srinagar and other districts.

The Minister also interacted with healthcare professionals and local representatives, instructing officials to guarantee uninterrupted services and round-the-clock readiness of emergency infrastructure throughout the holy month. MLA Zadibal Tanvir Ali Sadiq and Director SKIMS Ashraf Ganie, along with other senior administrative and health officials, were present at the event.
