Kandhamal Police Recover Maoist Weapon Dump in Balliguda Strategic Operation
BALLIGUDA June 11,2026— Acting on credible intelligence, the Kandhamal Police carried out a strategic counter-insurgency operation in the Balliguda region, leading to the recovery of a hidden Maoist weapon and ammunition dump.
The successful seizure has dealt another significant blow to extremist activities and disrupted potential disruptive plans in the area.During the search operation, security forces uncovered a substantial cache of arms and explosive materials concealed by the insurgents.
The recovered items included one SLR rifle, two SBGL guns, one country-made UBGL gun, and an SLR magazine loaded with 16 rounds of live ball ammunition.In addition to the firearms, the police team seized a dangerous assortment of explosives consisting of 30 electric detonators, a bundle of codex wire, and 10 SBGL grenades.
A variety of other Maoist camp articles were also recovered from the hidden site. Senior police officials noted that the operation reflects the ongoing commitment of the district force to completely neutralize extremist networks and maintain long-term peace in the region.
