Indian Army and civil administration launch joint security exercise in Arunachal Pradesh

BOMDILA, June 7, 2026 — The Ball of Fire Division, under the aegis of the Gajraj Corps, has commenced a seven-day military-civil fusion exercise named Samyukta Suraksha for the West Kameng district at Bomdila and Tenga in Arunachal Pradesh.

Organized under the central theme of nation first, the initiative adopts a whole-of-nation approach to build a more synergized joint response mechanism. The extensive exercise brings together the Indian Army, local civil administration, Sashastra Seema Bal, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, State Disaster Response Force, Border Roads Organisation, medical departments, and National Cadet Corps cadets.

The joint initiative aims to synchronize capacity and capability development to effectively manage emergencies, disaster relief operations, border management, and modern aerial threats.

By strengthening inter-agency coordination, the participants are working to ensure a collective commitment toward the vision of a developed India by 2047.

The opening events of the exercise saw active participation and valuable contributions from several key regional officials, including West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar, Superintendent of Police D W Thongon, Sashastra Seema Bal DIG Kamalkaant, and District Disaster Management Officer Mindu Yangzom.
