Border Roads Organisation Project Swastik restores Vikramshila Setu connectivity in Bihar

BHAGALPUR, June 7, 2026 — Project Swastik under the Border Roads Organisation successfully restored vital transport connectivity over the damaged Vikramshila Setu at Bhagalpur, Bihar, within a record span of 20 days.

Demonstrating high engineering efficiency, the personnel worked continuously through extreme heat and overnight shifts to deploy four Bailey Bridges, which included a major 170-foot structure.

The rapid completion of this challenging project has ensured uninterrupted vehicular movement across the Ganga river, providing significant relief to the local populations of Bhagalpur and Naugachia.

Following the successful installation, the bridges were officially inaugurated on June 7, 2026, by Kumar Shailendra, the Minister of the Road Construction Department for the Government of Bihar.

The inaugural ceremony took place in the presence of Brigadier Amit Sakhre, Chief Engineer of Project Swastik, marking the formal reopening of the critical transit link for public use.
