MVD Ramban launches major traffic enforcement drive on Karol Pernote route
RAMBAN, JUNE 06: In line with directives from Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan and under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan and SSP Arun Gupta, the Motor Vehicles Department Ramban conducted a special enforcement drive along the Karol, Maitra, Chandrog, and Pernote routes today to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations and enhance road safety.
The joint operation, carried out by the MVD team in collaboration with the Ramban Police, involved the thorough inspection of more than 70 vehicles for violations under the Motor Vehicles Act.During the drive, the enforcement team issued e-challans to 15 vehicles for various traffic offenses, accumulating an expected penalty of 1,01,000 rupees.
Following departmental guidelines, officials also seized two vehicles and recommended three driving licenses for suspension due to severe violations. The major offenses detected during the inspections included vehicle overloading, driving without a valid license, and carrying expired insurance documents.
The enforcement team used the opportunity to sensitize drivers and transporters about the importance of adhering to traffic norms and maintaining up-to-date vehicle documentation. Officials issued a stern warning that repeated violations, especially overloading, would result in strict penalties, including the seizure of vehicles and the suspension or cancellation of driving licenses, registration certificates, and route permits.
Additionally, ARTO Varun Bhasin highlighted the significance of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, urging drivers to completely avoid substance abuse and practice responsible driving.
