Border Roads Organisation chief reviews strategic infrastructure projects in Kargil

KARGIL, June 04, 2026:-The Director General Border Roads, Lieutenant General Harpal Singh, visited Project Vijayak in Kargil to inspect and review key strategic road infrastructure works in the frontier region.

During his assessment, the border roads chief commended the personnel and casual paid labourers for their relentless efforts in keeping the strategic Zojila Pass open during the harsh winter months. This successful clearance operation ensured continuous connectivity and a vital lifeline between the Ladakh region and the Kashmir Valley despite challenging weather conditions.

As part of his visit, the military official interacted with the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil, Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, alongside Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Haji Mohmad Haneefa Jan. The leaders held detailed discussions focusing on regional connectivity, border infrastructure development, and upcoming road projects.

The collaborative meeting underscored the shared commitment of the military and local administrative bodies to strengthen border security and enhance accessibility for the local population.
