Surat airport conducts drone threat mock exercise to test response readiness

SURAT, June 04, 2026:-Surat Airport conducted a multi-agency crisis management mock exercise based on a sub-conventional aerial threat and rogue drone scenario to test emergency response protocols.

The drill was organized in close coordination with all concerned stakeholders to prepare for potential unmanned aerial vehicle incidents. The active operation witnessed participation from the Central Industrial Security Force, Airports Authority of India, Air Traffic Control, local police, Surat Municipal Corporation, and various commercial airlines.

The joint exercise enabled participating agencies to assess their immediate response readiness, streamline inter-departmental communication, and strengthen overall operational capabilities against evolving security challenges.

The training event concluded with a detailed debriefing session to evaluate the effectiveness of the response strategies.

Officials stated that the exercise successfully reinforced operational preparedness and strategic coordination required to counter rogue drone threats effectively in a high-security aviation environment.
