Doda MLA Mehraj Malik Requests Lieutenant Governor to Restore Security Escort Vehicle Citing Safety Concerns

DODA, JUNE 4 — Member of the Legislative Assembly from Doda and Aam Aadmi Party Jammu and Kashmir State President Mehraj Malik has written a formal letter to the Lieutenant Governor requesting the immediate restoration and retention of his security escort vehicle.

Malik highlighted that he has been facing serious security concerns due to his extensive public and political engagements across the Union Territory. He noted that his escort vehicle was recently withdrawn, and despite bringing the matter to the attention of the concerned authorities through previous written communications, no action has been taken so far.

The lawmaker emphasized that the nature of his responsibilities, which involve frequent public interactions and extensive travel, exposes him to considerable risk without adequate security arrangements.

Malik stated that the retention of the escort vehicle is essential for ensuring his safety and enabling him to discharge his public duties effectively.

He has urged the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and issue the necessary directions for the immediate restoration of his security detail in the interest of his safety and public service obligations, with a copy of the request also forwarded to the Secretary of the Home Department for information and necessary action.
