Baramulla Police Seize Two Tippers to Curb Illegal Mineral Mining
BARAMULLA, June 1, 2026: In a major crackdown on the unauthorized exploitation of natural resources, the Baramulla Police intercepted and seized two tippers involved in the illegal transportation of minerals. The vehicles, registered under numbers JK05B-1271 and JK05A-4592, were caught operating in direct violation of the regional laws governing mineral extraction and transport.
Following the interception, law enforcement officials initiated formal legal proceedings against the violators under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act (MMDR Act).
Reiterating their zero-tolerance policy toward environmental degradation and the unlawful depletion of public wealth, the Baramulla Police emphasized that strict actions will persist against anyone engaging in these illicit practices.
Furthermore, authorities have urged the general public to actively cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious mining activities or unauthorized mineral transit within their respective neighborhoods.
