Jammu, September 01 : Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) on Monday directed all Chief Education Officers across Jammu Division to ensure strict safety measures before reopening schools in flood-affected areas.
According to the communique issued by DSEJ to CEO’s of Jammu Division as per news agency, no school building that has sustained structural damage, been submerged, or shows signs of risk shall be reopened until certified safe by competent authorities. The order emphasized that student and staff safety must remain the highest priority.
The DSEJ further instructed CEOs to coordinate with local administration, village leaders, and community organizations to arrange temporary learning spaces with essential facilities. Where schools remain unsafe or under repair, officials have been asked to explore community infrastructures such as panchayat ghars and religious places on a voluntary basis to ensure education is not disrupted.
