Srinagar Police Attach Assets Worth Two Crore From Drug Peddlers Under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan

SRINAGAR, May 07, 2026 — In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Srinagar Police attached immovable properties valued at over ₹2 crore belonging to notorious drug peddlers in the Chanapora and Qamarwari areas.

These actions were conducted as part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of the illegal narcotics trade.

In the first instance, officials from the Chanapora Police Station attached a double-storey residential house worth approximately ₹1 crore belonging to Huzaif Shabir Dar.

The investigation confirmed that the property was acquired through illicit proceeds from drug trafficking, leading to its attachment under the NDPS Act.

A second significant action was carried out by the Qamarwari Police Post, which attached a residential house belonging to Basit Ahmad Baba, also known as Aikan. This property, located in Barthana and estimated to be worth more than ₹1 crore, was seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act after being identified as an asset generated through illegal trade.

Legal proceedings for both attachments were conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, and the owners are now prohibited from selling, leasing, or transferring these assets until further orders are issued by the authorities.

Srinagar Police reiterated their firm commitment to eradicating drug abuse by targeting the assets and financial networks of those involved in the trade.

By freezing properties linked to criminal activity, the administration seeks to create a strong deterrent against substance abuse and trafficking.

Local authorities have appealed to the general public to continue sharing information regarding drug peddling to assist in the collective effort to build a safer and drug-free society.
