North Tech Symposium 2026: Indigenous Weapons Power Operation Sindoor Success, Says Sanjay Seth
PRAYAGRAJ, May 5, 2026: Addressing the North Tech Symposium at the ‘Raksha Triveni Sangam,’ Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth declared that India’s military might is increasingly being forged within the nation’s own defense factories, citing the success of Operation Sindoor as a landmark victory for indigenous weaponry.
He emphasized that the dismantling of terror hideouts during the operation was a direct result of the unmatched courage of the armed forces paired with state-of-the-art, Made-in-India systems. Highlighting the shift toward a self-reliant “New India,” the Minister described startups and MSMEs as the “Vishwakarmas of our age” and the essential brand ambassadors driving the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He asserted that record-breaking defense production and exports reflect a nation that no longer looks the other way when its sovereignty is threatened, but instead bolsters its own capabilities to safeguard national interests.
The three-day symposium, organized by the Indian Army’s Northern and Central Commands alongside the SIDM, showcased 284 stalls of cutting-edge technology, ranging from advanced UAVs and surveillance equipment to all-terrain vehicles. During the event, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C, Central Command, urged the industry to collaborate more closely with the forces to achieve strategic autonomy and ensure the Indian Army remains a future-ready force. Amidst global uncertainties, Minister Seth urged private innovators and defense public sector undertakings (DPSUs) to think outside the box and stay ahead of the technology curve, particularly within the transformative environment of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. The symposium serves as a vital junction where technology, industry, and soldiering converge to secure India’s technological sovereignty.
