Assam Rifles Outreach Team Visits Veterans and Families in Rewari

REWARI, April 30, 2026 — The Assam Rifles Headquarters Director General Outreach Team conducted a specialized visit to Rewari, Haryana, on April 29 to engage with esteemed members of the veteran community.

During the visit, the team met with Sushil, the wife of late Rifleman Vijender Singh from 34 Assam Rifles. Singh lost his life in the line of duty during an IED blast at Thoubal in July 2005.

The representatives expressed their deep respect for the family’s sacrifice and reiterated the organization’s dedication to ensuring their long-term welfare and stability.

The outreach initiative also focused on the wellbeing of retired Warrant Officer Ramanand of 38 Assam Rifles. The 65-year-old veteran has been bedridden for the last four years following a stroke that resulted in partial paralysis.

The visiting team spent time interacting with Ramanand and his family members to assess his current health needs and offer necessary support.

Both families expressed their appreciation for the continued care and commitment shown by the outreach team toward the veteran fraternity and their dependents.
