Leh city undergoes aesthetic upgrade for arrival of holy Buddha relics
LEH, APRIL 28, 2026Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena personally oversaw the final preparations and aesthetic improvements in Leh city on the eve of the arrival of the Holy Buddha Relics.
The Lieutenant Governor conducted a site visit to ensure the city is fully prepared to welcome a large number of devotees and international visitors expected for the upcoming religious event.
As part of the beautification efforts, more than 1000 flower pots have been strategically placed along the primary route connecting the airport to Jivetsal, which serves as the main venue for the sacred exposition.
These pots were specifically procured from local potters across Ladakh to support the regional economy while enhancing the visual appeal of the city streets.
The administration aims to create a clean, green, and vibrant environment to provide a memorable experience for all participants.
Saxena noted that these upgrades are intended to give the city a refreshed look, ensuring that the spiritual atmosphere is complemented by well-maintained public spaces and local craftsmanship.
