Indian Army Launches ‘NAVCHETNA’: New Adolescent-Friendly Health Clinic Opens at Military Hospital Gwalior
GWALIOR, Jan 20, 2026 — In a major step toward enhancing the holistic healthcare of military families, Maj Gen Vikas Lal, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Paschim Madhya Pradesh Sub Area, officially inaugurated the “NAVCHETNA” Adolescent Friendly Health Clinic at Military Hospital Gwalior. This pioneering initiative is specifically designed to address the unique medical and psychological needs of the children of both serving and retired Army personnel.
By creating a dedicated space for younger dependents, the Indian Army aims to bridge the gap in specialized care for the transitional phase between childhood and adulthood.The NAVCHETNA clinic is set to provide a wide array of integrated services, including professional mental health support, nutritional guidance, and reproductive health education.
A core component of the facility is its counseling wing, which focuses on early intervention for behavioral and emotional challenges faced by adolescents today.
