Bhaderwah 20th August :- The ancient town of Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a profound display of faith as the three-day annual Holy Kailash Yatra 2025 began today with devotees embarking on the sacred trek to Kailash Kund, situated at a breathtaking altitude of 14,700 feet.
The pilgrimage, centered around the revered ‘Charri Mubarak’, upholds a tradition of faith, devotion, and unity that is over a millennium old, marking a divine journey to what is believed to be an abode of Lord Shiva. However, this year’s yatra is marked by a note of caution, with district authorities permitting only a limited number of pilgrims to participate as a precautionary measure following the recent devastating cloudburst in the Padder area.
The yatra was ceremoniously flagged off from the ancient Vasuki Nag Temple in Gatha, Bhaderwah, amidst resonant chants in praise of Lord Vasuki Nag. As the procession passed through Bhaderwah town, it received a warm send-off from a gathering that included DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, MLA Dalip Singh Parihar, Senior BJP Leader Dr. Nirmal Singh, SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta, along with other senior civil and police officials and a large number of local devotees.
According to the schedule, the yatra will halt for the night at Hayan (Nalthi) before proceeding to its holy destination on August 21st, where devotees will take a sacred dip in the Kailash Dal lake and perform traditional rituals, before commencing their return journey to Bhaderwah on August 22nd.
