LEH, January 15, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk, presided over a comprehensive review meeting at the DC Office Chamber today to evaluate the Action Taken Report (ATR) following the previous Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) assessment.
The session focused heavily on the upcoming policy dialogues regarding Operation and Maintenance (O&M) and the critical reforms needed within Village Water Sanitation Committees (VWSCs) to ensure the mission’s long-term sustainability in Ladakh.
A primary highlight of the meeting was the emphasis on “Seva Aankalan,” a grassroots-level assessment designed to monitor the regularity, adequacy, and quality of drinking water supplied to every household.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed key performance parameters including the functionality of household tap connections, the implementation of Sujalam Bharat IDs, and preparations for Jal Arpan Diwas.
To bridge the gap between planning and execution, Romil Singh Donk announced an upcoming follow-up meeting involving Block Development Officers (BDOs) to strengthen grassroots coordination, while issuing strict directives to all departments to complete pending infrastructure works within the established timelines to ensure total water security for the district.,
