Jammu January 15,2026 :- In a significant move to ensure the welfare of citizens from Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has established direct contact with External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar to address the deteriorating security situation in Iran.
Following an urgent appeal from concerned parents and student associations, the Chief Minister received a detailed briefing from the EAM regarding the Ministry of External Affairs’ (MEA) current assessment of the ground reality and the contingency frameworks being developed for Indian nationals.
Expressing his gratitude on social media platform X, Abdullah confirmed that the Union Government has provided a firm assurance that every necessary measure will be taken to safeguard the lives and interests of J&K students, pilgrims, and residents currently stationed in the region.
