Leh, August 19, 2025: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), in collaboration with the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), successfully concluded a 43-day tailoring training program for 30 women participants. A felicitation ceremony was held today to celebrate the trainees’ achievements.
Under the Banner of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, DHEW Leh Mission Shakti distributed sewing machines to the trainees, equipping them with tools to pursue economic independence.The event was graced by AG Zargar, JKAS, District Programme Officer, Integrated Child Development Services Leh, as the chief guest.
In his address, he congratulated the participants and urged them to utilize their newly acquired skills as a foundation for small-scale entrepreneurial ventures, fostering self-reliance and empowerment.Diskit Ladol, District Coordinator, Mission Shakti, briefed the trainees on the objectives and services of the Mission Shakti scheme, highlighting its role in providing comprehensive support for women’s empowerment and socio-economic development.The initiative reflects DHEW’s commitment to skill development and women’s empowerment, aligning with the goals of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Mission Shakti to create opportunities for women to thrive.
