BJP Slams National Conference Over Internal Rift, Accuses Omar Abdullah Govt of Governance Failure
JAMMU, December 30, 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a blistering attack on the ruling National Conference (NC) today, alleging a deepening internal crisis within the party and a total collapse of governance under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, BJP Spokespersons Dr. Tahir Choudhary and Zorawar Singh Jamwal, along with Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, claimed that the NC-led government has abandoned its welfare promises in favor of “family-centric politics,” leaving the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir in a state of neglect.
Dr. Tahir Choudhary alleged that the National Conference is currently facing unprecedented unrest, claiming that nearly 80 percent of NC leaders are dissatisfied with Omar Abdullah’s unilateral style of functioning. He argued that the party has devolved into a family-run outfit where veteran leaders and grassroots workers—who spent decades building the organization—have been sidelined by a select few.
According to Dr. Choudhary, this internal power struggle has paralyzed the administration, causing the government to fail in delivering on its manifesto promises regarding youth employment, women’s empowerment, and the welfare of marginalized communities.
Reinforcing these claims, Zorawar Singh Jamwal pointed to the open criticism of government policies by NC’s own Members of Parliament as evidence of a “credibility crisis.” He remarked that a government unable to maintain unity within its own ranks is fundamentally incapable of providing stability or progress to the public.
The BJP leaders further criticized the administration’s “anti-poor” policies and urged the NC leadership to stop the internal infighting and refocus on urgent public issues. They warned that continued lack of transparency and political instability would only further erode public trust and worsen the administrative situation across the Union Territory.
