Kashmir Weather Update: Weak Western Disturbance Triggers Snowfall in Higher Reaches

SRINAGAR, 30 December :- A weak Western Disturbance is currently moving across Jammu and Kashmir, bringing a change in weather conditions as the year draws to a close.

Under its influence, several parts of North Kashmir have experienced intermittent rain and light snowfall since early this morning. Significant snowfall has been reported in the higher reaches, including popular tourist destinations and high-altitude passes such as Gulmarg, Sadhna Top, and the Tulail Valley, where the landscape has been blanketed in moderate white layers.

While the system has provided a wintry spectacle for visitors, the intensity remains relatively low in the plains.According to the latest insights from Kashmir Weather, no major rain or snow activity is anticipated over the next 24 hours as the system begins to lose its momentum.

However, residents and travelers should expect occasional intermittent showers to continue in isolated pockets across the region during this period. While the current disturbance is weak, it has notably dipped temperatures across the valley, maintaining a chilly atmosphere.

Travelers are advised to stay updated on road conditions, particularly across mountain passes, as light accumulations may cause slippery tracks before the weather stabilizes.
