POONCH, MARCH 14, 2026 — The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army has announced the tragic loss of a brave Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) during a high-stakes mission in the rugged terrain of Jammu and Kashmir.
On Saturday afternoon, at approximately 2:30 PM, Subedar Sandeep Kumar Dhaka was participating in the ongoing Operation Sheri Kalan in the general area of Poonch when he accidentally slipped and fell in the challenging, mountainous landscape. The fall rendered him unresponsive, prompting an immediate and urgent medical evacuation by his fellow soldiers to the Military Hospital in Potha.
Despite the rapid response and the determined, exhaustive efforts of the military medical team to revive him, Subedar Dhaka tragically passed away, making the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
