White Knight Corps Honors Special Forces Hero: Final Tributes Paid to Havildar Gajendra Singh Following Kishtwar Operation

JAMMU, Jan 20, 2026 — The White Knight Corps (16 Corps) of the Indian Army today held a solemn wreath-laying ceremony to honor the gallantry of Havildar Gajendra Singh, a dedicated soldier of the Special Forces who laid down his life in the line of duty.

Havildar Singh made the supreme sacrifice during the intervening night of January 18 and 19 while leading a high-stakes counter-terrorism mission, identified as Operation TRASHI-I, in the rugged Singpura area of Kishtwar district.

Senior military commanders and fellow soldiers gathered to pay their last respects, acknowledging his extraordinary bravery in confronting a group of heavily armed terrorists in the high-altitude forested terrain.

The Indian Army, in an official statement, hailed the fallen braveheart for his unwavering courage and absolute commitment to the nation, noting that his actions exemplify the highest traditions of military service.

The loss of Havildar Singh has sparked an outpouring of national pride and grief, with the White Knight Corps emphasizing that his sacrifice will serve as a lasting inspiration for future generations of soldiers.

As Operation TRASHI-I continues to hunt for the remaining militants in the Chatroo region, the mortal remains of the Special Forces veteran are being transported to his hometown with full military honors, escorted by a contingent of his comrades.
