Pulwama 04 September :- Due to persistent and heavy rainfall in the past two days the water level in Rumshi & Jhelum river surged resulting into breaching of river embankments and creating an imminent flood threat in Hassanwani and Badibagh and Paho Villages of Pulwama district and Kadlabal Village of Pampore town respectively.
Responding to the crisis situation Zudur COB and Lethpora COB of 50RR/ 5 Sector mobilized its resources to assist in:-Evacuating the civilans stuck in the inundated houses.Reinforcing the embankments and walls of the houses with sandbags.Provide medical assistance and distribution of essential supplies to the civil population in need.
The efforts by 50RR were highly appreciated by the local population as the need of the hour in crisis situation.The local population had expressed deep gratitude for unwavering commitment of the Indian Army to safeguard lives during Natural Calamities.
