Weather Update:- J&K Braces for intermittent thunder showers; Authorities issue advisory

Srinagar 06 September:- A generally unsettled weather pattern is forecast for Jammu and Kashmir over the coming week, though no significant widespread rainfall is anticipated until after September 12th.

According to the MET Centre Srinagar, today, September 6th, will see a brief spell of rain or thunder at a few isolated places. The period from September 7th to 8th is expected to bring a spell of light rain or thunder to scattered to many places across the Union Territory, with a possibility of moderate rainfall in a few districts of the Jammu division during the late night and early morning hours.

From September 9th to 12th, brief, intermittent spells of rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places. The MET Centre has issued an advisory, warning of the possibility of landslides and shooting stones at a few vulnerable locations and urging the public to stay away from water bodies, river embankments, and loose structures.

In a positive note for the agricultural sector, farmers have been advised to resume farm operations from today and to plan for the harvesting of paddy from September 9th onwards.
