Jammu, 15 October 2025: ‘Vocal for Local’ realizing Self-Reliance and National Pride must be our collective mantra if we truly wish to see India emerge as a global superpower, asserted Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, while appealing to the people to wholeheartedly adopt the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’ and go for Swadeshi products this Deepawali.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra said that the call for Vocal for Local is not merely a slogan, but a transformative movement that strengthens the very foundation of the nation’s economy. Every rupee spent on indigenous products this festive season contributes to building a self-sustainable economic ecosystem in both rural and urban areas, he said, adding that the mission aligns perfectly with our cultural ethos of self-reliance and respect for nature.
He emphasized that this campaign not only boosts local industries and craftsmen but also revives India’s age-old tradition of sustainable living, ensuring that economic growth goes hand in hand with environmental balance. Dr. Pardeep hailed the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has consistently championed the cause of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and inspired citizens to use local products in everyday life. It’s time that Jammu & Kashmir too becomes a strong pillar of this mission, he stressed.
Appealing to the J&K Government, Dr. Pardeep urged it to actively promote the campaign through policy support, marketing platforms, and incentives for local entrepreneurs, so that the region’s unique crafts, industries, and agricultural products gain both national and global recognition.By empowering our own producers, artisans, and traders, Jammu & Kashmir can script a new chapter of economic independence and sustainable prosperity, Dr. Pardeep said and added that this campaign can energize the entire economic ecosystem, boosting production, ensuring local consumption, increasing household incomes, and making J&K a model of self-reliant development.
