NEW DELHI, March 12, 2026: Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed a high-level two-day National Cadet Corps (NCC) conference at the Manekshaw Centre today, outlining a strategic roadmap to align the organization with the national vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047.”

Emphasizing the urgent need for structural transformation, the Defence Secretary urged stakeholders to adopt synergized efforts that complement various government initiatives aimed at youth empowerment and national security.

He highlighted that as India marches toward its centenary of independence, the NCC must evolve into a more robust and technologically advanced force to stay relevant in a changing global landscape.

The conference serves as a critical platform for deliberating on the future of the Directorate General of the NCC (DG NCC), with a specific focus on upgrading training quality and developing state-of-the-art infrastructure across the country.

A major highlight of the discussions includes the integration of cutting-edge fields such as drone technology and cyber security training into the NCC curriculum.
