Vice Chief of Army Staff Reviews Indigenous Defence Innovation at L&T and Bharat Forge in Pune
PUNE, JANUARY 03, 2026 — Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), conducted a high-level visit to the premier defence manufacturing hubs of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Ltd and Bharat Forge Ltd in Pune today.
During the visit, the VCOAS was extensively briefed on emerging defence technologies and innovative weapon systems currently being developed in alignment with the national vision of #AatmaNirbharBharat.
The visit highlights the growing synergy between the Indian Army and the domestic private sector in achieving self-reliance in critical military hardware.The Lieutenant General undertook a comprehensive review of several high-priority ongoing projects, focusing specifically on advancements in robotics, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and modern artillery platforms.
He commended the defense industry for its relentless efforts in delivering cutting-edge, technology-driven capabilities designed to enhance the operational edge of the Indian Armed Forces. The VCOAS observed that the transition toward indigenous manufacturing is pivotal for maintaining a strategic advantage in a rapidly changing global security landscape.
