KANPUR, February 10, 2026 — Strengthening the blueprint for a future-ready military, the Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, visited IIT Kanpur to spearhead new collaborations in the technology-driven modernization of the Indian Army.
The visit focused on a strategic roadmap to integrate emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and electronic warfare, into the nation’s indigenous defense architecture. During an extensive tour of the Helicopter & VTOL Laboratory, UAV Laboratory, and C3iHub, the VCOAS reviewed groundbreaking advancements in drone capabilities and secure communication frameworks, commending the institution for its role in developing niche, high-impact technologies.
